Refunds Policy

This document describes how we calculate refunds. Our refunds policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Our seven business days refund guarantee means that if for any reason you want to cancel your Subscription provided you notify our sales team, via our web form, accessed by clicking here, within seven business days of your Subscription being activated, we will refund in full any Subscription monies already paid. Please note that if you paid for your Subscription in a currency other than GBP sterling the amount refunded may differ from the original billed amount due to currency fluctuations.

Where we receive notice of your cancellation outside this seven business day period, refunds will be at our entire discretion.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund if we believe that you have or have attempted to damage or misuse the Earthsim Services or have breached any of the terms relating to use of the Earthsim Services or the Earthsim Website.

You can upgrade certain subscriptions to others in order to get more features. If you have already purchased an Earthsim subscription, you can find out if any upgrades are available by visiting our Subscription Upgrades page.

You will be billed the full price of the upgraded Subscription and we will refund you the unused portion of your old Subscription less an administration charge for processing the upgrade.

Any outstanding credit on your old Subscription account will be credited to your upgraded Subscription account.

Your upgraded Subscription will run for 12 months from the date it is activated. Our seven business day refund guarantee will apply to your upgraded Subscription from the date we activate it. If you request and qualify for a refund on the upgraded subscription, we will refund the amount you paid for the upgrade, and we will then resubscribe you to the original subscription.

An administration charge of GBP 2 (including VAT) applies to any upgrades which you request.

Example calculation of Upgrade Refund

If you purchase the "Earthsim Online Screensaver" (1-year subscription) for GBP 11.75, and after 6 months you choose to upgrade to "Earthsim TV" (1-year subscription) for GBP 37.60, you will be billed:

(1) GBP 37.60 for the upgraded "Earthsim TV" subscription plus
(2) GBP 2 administration charge for processing the upgrade.

We will then refund you GBP 5.88 representing the unused portion of the old "Earthsim Online Screensaver" subscription.

Therefore the total charge to you for the upgrade would be GBP 33.72 (i.e. GBP 37.60 + GBP 2 - GBP 5.88).

If you then successfully request a refund on the upgraded subscription, you will be refunded GBP 33.72 and resubscribed to your original subscription.
